

Ted Barrett umpired for 34 years in professional baseball, 24 of those were in the major leagues. Serving as a crew chief for his final 10 years. Ted umpired in five World Series and two All-Star games as well as numerous other post-season events. In 2024 Ted was awarded the Golden Whistle, the NASO's highest honor
Ted received his PhD in Theology from Trinity Theological Seminary in 2013. He came on staff with UPI in 2024, after his retirement from professional baseball. Ted heads up our ministry to professional umpires and leads a retreat for them in Dallas Texas in December. He also leads a missions trip to Cuba as well.
Ted and his wife Tina live in Gilbert Arizona and they have 3 children and 7 grandchildren. In his spare time, Ted enjoys riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and exploring the roads less traveled.
