At the onset of this Psalm, David is saying something profound.


The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures.

He leads me beside still waters.


Do we really understand, not only what these words are communicating, but also what they are implying?


What does it mean that the Lord is my Shepherd? What do I need to truly believe about God in order to trust Him as my Shepherd? If He is my shepherd, then what does that make me?
