Psalm 130:5: "I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope."

There are various arenas of our lives where we are accustom to waiting, whether it is in the hospital as a loved one goes "under the knife" or gives birth, or listening to a radio to hear a final score of a sporting event. There is a certain amount of anticipation and impatience in the midst of the waiting. In each of these circumstances, however, there is a sense of anxiety as we wait. Is that the way God wants us to live life?

Meditate On This!

In the midst of your current situation, are you willing to throw aside impatience (which is not a fruit of the spirit), and just wait patiently on the Lord for an answer? As our North American lifestyle is one of quick answers and convenience to the consumer, sometimes God wants to take His time with us so that we will grow thicker and stronger in Him. Remember, this is about His economy and His Kingdom.

Lets again take the focus off our situation and wait upon the Lord so that as in Isaiah 40:31: "but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
